Weekend Recap: Belle Isle
September 15, 2018Weekend Recap: Things to do at night
October 4, 2018Labor Day already seems like a distant memory, time seriously needs to slow down. How is it already October?? Even though fall doesn’t officially start till the end of September, I always think of Labor Day as the unofficial start of fall. Just like Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. But back to Labor Day, Steve and I decided to end summer with a mini night away in Ann Arbor. We got to Ann Arbor early (well early for me) on Sunday and went right to Sava’s. Their brunch buffet was amazing, there were so many yummy choices- as you can see from my picture above I loaded up my plate (I might have even gone up for seconds) and it included a mini mimosa or bloody mary! After brunch, we walked around Ann Arbor to do a little shopping and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. By 4 pm we were ready to check in to the hotel and rest a little before heading to dinner. We try to do a mini getaway at least once a year to Ann Arbor and always stay at the Graduate, I love every detail of this hotel. For dinner, we went to one of my favorite places, Aventura. After a little convincing I agreed to try paella if we could also split a charcuterie board, I’m officially a huge fan of paella and can’t wait to have it again! Last time we spent the night in Ann Arbor we discovered Insomnia Cookies, which is a company that delivers cookies and ice cream to you… of course we needed to try them out again! The next morning we grabbed breakfast from the coffee shop within the hotel and headed off to play golf. It was a quick, but fun 24 hours in Ann Arbor!
