Wedding Planning- Update Nine
June 1, 201748 Hours in D.C. – Where to Eat
June 6, 2017We spent last Saturday on a date night and Sunday on a double date day downtown, so it was a pretty good two days! Saturday night Steve and I tried two new places, Gather and Antietam – both were great! Gather had a Rosé slushie, need I say more? The beet tart at Antietam was unlike any beet dish I have ever had, the best way to describe what it looked like was a piece of cake.
Sunday we enjoyed our last double date for awhile with Mallory and Steve, before they spend the summer in D.C. Last Memorial day weekend we spent a full day with them exploring the city, so of course, we needed to do it again this year- I think it should be a tradition at this point. We started at Great Lakes Coffee, took the Q Line into downtown, made it to Corner Stone Barrel right before the rain started. Once the rain let up a little we made our way over to Parc, which would have been great if it wasn’t raining. We took the Q Line back to Midtown stopped by Honest John’s while we waited for our table at Selden Standard. Dinner was good at Selden Standard (I have had better downtown), but their desserts… those were amazing. Mallory and I were going on and on about the avocado mint ice cream so much that our waiter had the chef take us on a tour of the kitchen and show us where the ice cream was made. I didn’t realize how many different places we went to until I typed them all out, but it was such a fun day exploring my favorite city.
