Gingerbread Houses
December 21, 2017Winter Bucket List
January 17, 2018I can not believe that Christmas has already come and gone and the New Year has already started. With all the prep work that goes into Christmas, I feel like it should be a week-long event… not just one day. Luckily we celebrate Christmas on the 25th and the 26th every year at our house, so at least we get two days! The kids come over early in the afternoon on Christmas day and the fun begins the minute they walk through the door. After the stockings are dumped out and there is wrapping paper all over the room, the kids search for their letters that Santa has left in the tree and the family letter. Each year Santa leaves a letter for the kids, highlighting something special and letting them know what type of activity he has planned for them and Steve to do that year. I love this tradition that Steve started with the kids! The letter to the family, lets everyone know that Santa didn’t have room on his sleigh for all the gifts and will be back that night to drop them off. We started doing this so we are able to recreate Christmas morning a little bit. We spend the rest of the 26 in our PJ’s enjoying leftover food, playing with everything Santa brought and hanging out. It is a pretty much two perfect days and we love every minute of it.
