A couple weekends ago when the weather was in the mid 50s Steve and I decided to have an impromptu date night in Detroit. We originally wanted to go to the Winter Blast, but when we got there it was a little too busy for me. So we went to one of our favorite places Wright and Co, for a drink and appetizer. A.J. made me the most amazing drink, thanks!
Since it was so nice, we decided to walk over to Vertical to check it out. After walking down a few steps you enter the long, narrow restaurant that looks more like a wine cellar with tables added in. The food there was amazing!!! Steve and I spilt Pork Shank, succotash and flourless chocolate cake- it was all so good. The staff there was extremely friendly and helpful with their wine selection. I have been wanting to check out this new place, Bad Luck Bar so we made that our final stop. Finding this place was not so easy, it’s down a random ally, no sign, just a red light next to the door. Once we finally found it and made our way through the large velvet curtain and to the bar that seats four, we were greeted with a warm drink in a little teacup. After flipping through their menu, I decided on the drink with homemade pop rocks and I’m so happy I did- they were so good! The vibe at Bad Luck Bar is so cool, it only seats about 34 people and is great to see something this unique come to Detroit. All in all it was a great night with my guy!!
