Happy Halloween

November 4, 2016I realized I never posted pictures of Leighton’s pony party. After riding horses this summer in Tennessee, Leighton has wanted to go again so badly. When we asked her wanted she wanted to do for her birthday this year, it was no surprise that she wanted to go on another trail ride- not just on a pony ride. I didn’t think this would be nearly as hard as it was to find a place that allowed a five-year-old on a trail ride, not just taking them around in circles on a pony. But luckily we found the Brighton Recreation Riding Stable, and they allow anyone over the age of four to go a trail ride with someone leading them. The Brighton riding stable was great to work with, they have a room in their barn that you are able to rent out for parties, but since it was such a beautiful day we decided to set up outside with their picnic tables. It worked out perfectly since there were goats and llamas to pet and feed, which the kids loved doing- those goats had to be stuffed by the time we left. After painting cowboy and cowgirl hats, all kids went on pony rides- before the big kids went off on the trail ride.
Leighton’s favorite part was the trail ride, my favorite part was the decorations. I’m lucky that I have one that still appreciates the way I like to take their birthday theme to the extreme. I was so excited when we were decided to move the party outside so I could use the barn as a backdrop for the balloons. I had so much fun making the decorations, I will have another blog post about how I made everything soon. It was such a great afternoon celebrating Leighton’s birthday and enjoying the beautiful day.
